Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Credit Asset Manager to join our team. You will manage a portfolio of real estate credit investments ranging from senior and mezzanine loans/debt to senior/preferred and junior equity.
Key responsibilities include: monitoring asset performance, ensuring compliance with loan documentation, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending corrective action to protect and maximise investment returns.
This role requires a strong understanding of real estate assets and credit markets, financial analysis, and asset management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management:
●Oversee a portfolio of real estate credit investments, including loans, mezzanine debt, and preferred and junior equity positions
●Build and maintain good-standing relationships with Sponsors, hold monthly reviews with each, reconciling construction timelines, budget variances and sales progress with deal contracts
●Monitor asset-level and portfolio-level performance, ensuring compliance with loan documentation and covenants, or other deal-related documentation (eg investment agreements)
Real Estate Credit Analysis, Risk Management and Workout:
●Conduct borrower, asset, and market analyses to assess credit quality
●Perform regular valuations and provide recommendations for asset strategy to maximize returns and mitigate risk
●Identify early warning signs of underperformance and implement proactive risk mitigation workout or disposition strategies when necessary
Reporting & Communication:
●Proactively collect, review and re-perform / synthesize periodical deal reporting from Sponsors
●Prepare periodic performance reports and asset/deal summaries for senior management and investors
●Prepare a comprehensive report on all active investments to support quarterly NAV reporting and ensure alignment between portfolio, finance, and investment teams, and external fund managers
Loan Servicing & Compliance:
●Liaise with external loan servicers and other providers, and joint venture partners to ensure smooth operations and compliance
●Manage key borrower requests such as lease approvals, modifications, or capital expenditure plans in coherence with overall portfolio strategy
●Ensure adherence to all regulatory and reporting requirements, maintaining accurate and organized asset management records
Investment and underwriting Support:
●Contribute to portfolio strategy discussions and market analysis to inform future investment decisions
●Support investment and underwriting teams with due diligence, execution and asset transition plans for newly originated loans
Requirements
●Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field
●5-8 years of experience in real estate credit, debt investing, or asset management
●Strong understanding of real estate loan structures, credit underwriting, and market dynamics
●Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Excel
●Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with sponsors, borrowers, co-investors, and advisors, even under pressure and tight deadlines
●Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
●Fluent English and Italian; working French or Spanish advantageous for cross-border activity
